The 2024 GEC organizers are happy to organize a tour to the DIII-D National Fusion Facility as part of the conference activities. The tour is offered completely free of charge to the conference attendees. Please see below for logistical information
Time: Monday, 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm (including time for bus transfers)
Date: September 30th, 2024
The tour is capped at 75 attendees and therefore will be offered on a first come first served basis. Conference attendees are encouraged to express their interest at their earliest convenience by filling out the appropriate information at the time of online registration. For those of you who registered prior to the tour announcement, a separate email will be sent out inquiring about your interest in the tour.
Important announcement to the attendees
- No sandals, open-toed, or high heel shoes may be worn.
- Those with a pacemaker or other electronic medical device that is sensitive to magnetic fields may have restricted access within the facility. Please inform us ASAP if this applies to anyone who will attend the tour.
- Adults must bring government issued photo identification. For U.S. citizens and permanent residents, a driver's license is sufficient. Non-U.S. citizens need to bring their passport.
